  1. Dublin Pride Week "Volunteer Day"

    April 27, 2019, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Emerald Glen Park

    Dublin Pride volunteers will help with senior assistance; non-profit support; school and park beautification; and creek clean-up projects. Volunteers will meet at the Emerald Glen Park basketball courts for a light breakfast and to receive their volunteer assignments. They’ll return to Emerald Glen Park at noon for lunch, provided by the Dublin Lions Club. Register at www.dublinprideweek.com.

  2. Food Drive

    Food donations will be collected at both Dublin Safeway stores, as well as at Emerald Glen Park, the meeting place for Dublin Pride "Volunteer Day." The donations will be presented to food banks that service the Dublin community, including the Children’s Emergency Food Bank.

    Friendly teen volunteers can assist you with using the library's eBook collections You can get help with: downloading eBooks from the library's catalog onto an e-reader, tablet, laptop, etc.; downloading the eBook apps onto a device; setting up your account with any of the library's eBook collections; and accessing eBooks and eAudiobooks once you've checked them out. No registration necessary; please drop in. Individual appointments may be scheduled on selected Tuesdays, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Inquire at the Dublin Library for more details.

  1. Parks Air Force Base: 1951-1959

    Parks Air Force Base was a basic training center, overseas replacement depot, and air base defense training area during the Korean War. Learn about the Korean War and how Parks Air Force Base provided basic training and prepared airmen for flight school and service. See on display a recruit's ‘regulation’ bunk complete with footlocker and souvenirs; uniforms including the herringbone jumpsuit worn for work duty; an officer’s desk complete with General MacArthur snow globe and original Parks AFB yearbooks with photos depicting the training and camaraderie Parks AFB personnel; and original construction plans, reports, photographs, and documents for Parks AFB and Hospital.

  2. Exploring Dublin's First Inhabitants

    Dig deep into Dublin’s roots to learn about the tribes of the Ohlone and Bay Miwok people who were the first inhabitants of this area. The exhibit begins with a brief look at the people who lived here first and whose descendants continue to live here today. Learn about their daily lives including horticultural practices and foodways, tools and technology, environmental management, social order, and beliefs. Displays include a house model, examples of usable plants and animals, hunting tools and mortars. Monthly Hands-on History Days further explore the daily life of the Ohlone and Bay Miwok and provide hands-on activities that bring the exhibit to life.

  1. Drug Take Back, E-Waste Recycling, Document Shredding

    Residents are invited to dispose of unwanted pharmaceuticals and e-waste, and shred documents containing sensitive information. Bring unwanted or expired medications for safe disposal (acceptable: capsules, pills, any solid forms of medications). For document shredding, residents can bring up to four boxes. Please bring i.d. showing Dublin residency.
