During the 1940s and 1950s, Navy Nurses and Red Cross workers served important roles at Camp Parks and neighboring Shoemaker Hospital, a 3,000-bed facility which provided care for almost 46,000 patients during World War II. This exhibit salutes the women who helped to heal, comfort and transition injured sailors and Marines back to civilian life in a dynamic post-War world. On display are original Nurse and Red Cross uniforms, medical equipment, therapy artifacts and photos.

Begin with a snapshot of Dublin in 1968, when the Dublin Chamber of Commerce was formed. As a small town with fewer than 100 businesses, fast-growing Dublin had beauty salons and barber shops, auto repair shops, and a cocktail lounge or two to serve new suburbanites who were moving here by the thousands. Learn about the Chamber’s first battle involving a soapbox derby, and see how the Chamber advocated for local businesses. By 1982, Dublin had more than 675 businesses and had become a major shopping and recreational destination with a bowling alley, drive-in movie theater, roller rink, and every type of fast food imaginable. Discover the Chamber’s role in helping Dublin gain a reputation as one of the best cities in California for business owners.

The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) generally meets the fourth Wednesday of every month. YAC is a positive and creative youth driven forum that gives Dublin teens a way to provide input on programs and activities offered by the City.
