The City of Dublin has received an award from the Northern California Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) for its Sean Diamond Park project. The award was presented at the APWA 2019 Project Awards Luncheon, held on February 21, 2019. The City received the award in the category of "Structures - Projects Less Than $5 Million." Joining City staff at the award ceremony was project designer, Environmental Foresight, Inc., and the general contractor, McGuire and Hester.
Sean Diamond Park, located across the street from Amador Elementary School in the Positano subdivision, was dedicated on April 28, 2018. It is named for former Army Staff Sergeant Sean Diamond, a former Dublin resident, who was killed in action in Iraq in 2009.
