Come view a new exhibit, "Parks Air Force Base: 1951-1959," at Dublin Camp Parks Military History Center, now through May 10, 2019. Learn how Parks Air Force Base was a training ground for airmen during the Korean War.
In addition to serving as a basic training center, Parks Air Force Base also served as an overseas replacement depot, and air base defense training area. See on display a recruit's ‘regulation’ bunk complete with footlocker and souvenirs; uniforms, including the herringbone jumpsuit worn for work duty; an officer’s desk complete with General MacArthur snow globe and original Parks AFB yearbooks with photos depicting the training and camaraderie Parks AFB personnel; and original construction plans, reports, photographs, and documents for Parks AFB and Hospital.
The Camp Parks Military History Center is located in Building 275, just outside of the Main Gate checkpoint off of Dougherty Road in Dublin. It is open daily, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
