Beginning in November, Dublin residents, along with 10 other Alameda County cities, will receive a new, green energy supply through East Bay Community Energy (EBCE). This agency will distribute cleaner, greener electricity than currently provided to residents. Distribution and billing will be provided by PG&E. Businesses in Dublin began receiving the green energy in June.
Residents will be automatically enrolled in the Bright Choice plan, which is at least 38% renewable and an additional 47% carbon-free. Customers can either continue with this plan, choose two other options, which feature even greener renewable energy, or opt out of the EBCE program. Since June, Dublin municipal accounts have been powered by the Brilliant 100 energy portfolio.
