The City of Dublin will soon welcome Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que to its Downtown District. Lucille’s will be located in the former Elephant Bar site on Amador Plaza Road. Tenant improvements will begin later this summer, with a tentative opening in early 2018.
Lucille’s founder Craig Hofman opened the first of his many restaurants in Long Beach, California, in 1999. According to the restaurant’s website, Hofman "spent several years on a tour of Southern barbeque...taking him from the Carolinas to Kansas, Texas to Tennessee, and just about every other place in between." Lucille’s driving philosophy is, “Serving the best Bar-B-Que with the finest southern hospitality.”
The City adopted the Downtown Specific Plan in 2011 and since that time, has become an area in transition to create a vibrant, pedestrian-oriented experience for residents, diners, and shoppers. The City has made strategic investments in infrastructure in the area to spur activity, and has increased its business attraction efforts.
