The Dublin Chamber of Commerce's First 50 Years: 1968-2018
Wednesday, September 5, 2018
Begin with a snapshot of Dublin in 1968, when the Dublin Chamber of Commerce was formed. As a small town with fewer than 100 businesses, fast-growing Dublin had beauty salons and barber shops, auto repair shops, and a cocktail lounge or two to serve new suburbanites who were moving here by the thousands. Learn about the Chamber’s first battle involving a soapbox derby, and see how the Chamber advocated for local businesses. By 1982, Dublin had more than 675 businesses and had become a major shopping and recreational destination with a bowling alley, drive-in movie theater, roller rink, and every type of fast food imaginable. Discover the Chamber’s role in helping Dublin gain a reputation as one of the best cities in California for business owners.
