May is National Bike Month!

Please celebrate by participating in any and all of these free events!

Bike to Work Month Challenge: Month of May

Register your company to compete regionally in the month-long bike to work challenge. Visit for more information and to register. 

Bicycle Commuting Lunch and Learn: May 1, Noon to 1:00 PM

Learn the basics of bicycle commuting over lunch.   Lunch will be provided for those who register at The workshop will be held in the Civic Center Regional Meeting Room (100 Civic Plaza). 

Family Cycling Workshop: May 5, 1:30 to 4:00 PM

The family that rides together thrives together!  Join Bike East Bay's certified instructors for a day of fun games, safety drills, skills building, and a neighborhood ride.  This workshop is for kids who are able to ride a bike and ready to take to the paths and roadways with their parents (suggested grade range: 2nd-6th). The workshop will be at Kolb Elementary School (3150 Palermo Way). Visit to reserve your spot!

Bike to Work Day: May 10

Commute to work by bike instead of driving.  Visit the Energizer Stations to receive refreshments, t-shirts, and bags filled with giveaways and coupons from sponsors.  This year, staff from the cities of Dublin and Pleasanton, the Alameda County Transportation Commission, as well as Hacienda, Dublin Cyclery, and REI Dublin will host the stations.

  • Dublin/Pleasanton BART: 6:30 to 9:00 AM
  • West Dublin BART: 7:00 to 9:00 AM

Bike to Work Day Happy Hour: May 10, 5:00 to 7:00 PM

Celebrate your ride to work with a post-work happy hour at Whole Foods in Dublin.

Dublin-Pleasanton Community Bike Ride: May 19, 10:00 AM to Noon

Meet at Mike’s Bikes in Pleasanton (6754 Bernal Avenue) for an 11-mile bike ride through Pleasanton and Dublin trails. Recommended for ages 10+, accompanied by an adult. All skill levels welcome. RSVP at by May 16.  Event sign-in begins at 9:30 AM.

Bike to Market: May 24, 4:00 to 8:00 PM

Ride your bike to the Dublin Farmer’s Market at Emerald Glen Park and get $5 in “carrot cash” for use at the market.
