Responsibilities


Permit applications, permit issuance, plan check submittals, and inspection requests end at 4:00 p.m.

The City Building Official manages the Building and Safety Division.  City staff include a Plan Check Engineer and support staff.  Various outside consultant firms provide the plan checking and inspection services. View codes currently followed by the City of Dublin.

Building Valuation Numbers


In August 2017, 213 permits were issued with a building valuation of $33,154.884.  The total building valuation, fiscal year to date, is $46,650,356.

Online Services

The Citizen Services site handles many City of Dublin building permit needs, including permit inquiries, checking on the status of current plan checks, inspection results/history, and scheduling inspections up until 10:00 p.m. for a next-day inspection.

Residential Evening Inspections


We now offer residential inspections on Tuesday evenings from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please call 925-833-6620 the day before to set up an inspection for a next-day appointment.

Plan Check Timelines


It takes about two to three weeks to process a building permit that requires plan review submittals. A majority of minor permits are issued over the counter.  View our frequently asked questions for more details.
